            <description>OutREACH Cumbria &lt;br&gt;&amp;amp; &lt;br&gt;The Cumbria LGBT Alliance &lt;br&gt;Are holding an LGBT Forum in Carlisle on&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;Saturday 12th May 2012 at The Carlisle Enterprise Centre, James Street, Carlisle, CA2 5BB&lt;br&gt;(Carlisle Enterprise Centre is close to the city centre, bus and train stations, limited car parking is available to the rear of the centre)&lt;br&gt;The Forum is open to LGBT Groups in Cumbria and to anyone who identifies as lesbian, gay, bisexual or trans.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;The Forum starts at 10.00 and runs until 3pm, refreshments and a buffet lunch will be provided &lt;br&gt;(please indicate if you have any dietary requirements in your email)&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;On the agenda - Social Media workshop – Funding for LGBT Groups&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;The forum provides the opportunity for LGB and T people to discuss issues which affect them, to share concerns and to work together as a community. &lt;br&gt;Discussions cover topical areas such as; health, community safety, education/employment, housing and community support for LGBT people. &lt;br&gt;The aim of our discussions is to provide recommendations to take back to service providers in Cumbria and to find ways to help the LGBT community help itself.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;If you are interested and would like to attend the next forum, to book a place or for further details please email Richard at: outreachcumbria@live.co.uk or call on: 07896 250662&lt;br&gt;</description>

            <title>Carlisle Police Appeal for Witnesses of Assault (01/05/12)</title>

            <description>In the early hours of 1st May 2012, 1.55am, an assault occurred outside Outrageous on English Street, Carlisle. A verbal altercation took place in the Lowther arcade, following which the victim in this case walked from Lowther arcade, across English Street to outside B &amp;amp; M, where he talked to the driver of a white taxi. A person then approached this male and struck him. The victim, who is 34yrs old fell to the floor and was subsequently taken to CIC where his condition deteriorated and he was transported to Newcastle Hospital. He is described as being in a critical condition but stable.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;A male aged 26 from Carlisle, who was described as wearing baggy jeans, a dark jacket and having ginger cropped hair was arrested on suspicion of assault.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;CCTV shows a number of people who were in Devonshire arcade during the verbal altercation, and also a number of people who left Devonshire arcade, and appeared to watch the assault at B &amp;amp; M.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;Police are appealing for any witnesses to the incident or the circumstances which have led up to the incident occurring to contact Carlisle CID on 101 &amp;nbsp; &lt;br&gt;</description>
